Being healthy isn’t all about being physically well. God created us with more than one dimension. Those dimensions – physical, emotional, mental and spiritual – must work in harmony for us to be wholistically well. As Christmas nears, we often find a tug of war raging within us.Col. 3:17 And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. The list of Christmas cards to write and send, the gifts to buy and wrap, the parties and dinners to plan, prepare and/or attend, the church functions and services, the kids school functions, the spouses activities, the parents and other family members expectations, ---- wow, our emotional, mental, and physical dimensions are in high gear and working over time. In the midst of the chaos there can be tranquility. We have heard
it said a thousand times, “Jesus is the reason for the season.” Christ
lives within us. That relationship must be nurtured and tended. Take
time this season to reflect on the gifts that Jesus has given and continues
to give you. How are you reflecting His love through your “to do”
list? Do all things as though unto Christ. Try it. See
if it doesn’t make a difference during your turbulent preparations in celebration
of the day of His birth. If we remain spiritually well, all the other
dimensions, inside and outside our bodies, will run in perfect harmony.
Matt. 1:23 “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel.” |
